Alright, so this is the first EVER Personal Value & Integrity Index.
This is going to be an everyday project where I'll be tracking how closely I'm living with my personal values.
Why am I tracking this stuff?
Well, I've recently figured that a life of purpose is a life lived in alignment with your values.
Your values.
Not your parents, not your partners, not your friends.
But your values - the unique things that are important to you to live a fulfilled life of meaning.
The thing I'm learning is that it's actually quite hard to really know what your values are because we're so influenced by other people, society, etc.
But for now, after doing a bit of soul searching here are my main personal values (at least I think they're mind anyway).
They are: Creativity, Learning, Freedom, Simplicity.
I'm rolling with these to begin with, but I'll probably refine them as I get better at knowing what it is that I really want.
Oh, and I chucked in integrity in there too.
Not necessarily as a personal value, but I've felt that it's something that I've probably lacked in my life so I'm going to make a concerted effort to change it moving forward.
So as you'll see, I've built a fancy way of showcasing my progress and tracking things so that I can see how I'm getting on.
I'm also going to be adding in a bit of a 'what I did good, what I did bad' section too. Like this:
What I did good
What I did bad
Tasks for tomorrow, to be better than I was today:
I read an article about how important it is to start tracking your bad habits, so I think I'm going to start there. Plus, I'm going to get some of the shit out of my head onto paper (jobs that I know I've got to do, but really don't want to), and I'm also going to actually call my mum - I think I'll do that now.
Anyway, that's about it I think for the first introduction to this whole thing, It'll likely (but not definitely) get better going forward.
