Alright, before we get started I just wanted to give you guys a little clarity on what conversions are, and why they're so damn important.
First up, let me explain a little as to what ‘conversion focused’ means in this instance.
A conversion is where you get a user to take a certain action on your website. Now that could be buying a product, registering an account, etc.
However, in our situation the one we’re really focused on is email subscribers.
“But email is dead”! I hear you say.
That couldn’t be further from the truth.
In fact email is THE holy grail for any online business, and you’re about to find out why.
“Fancy a fuck?”
That’s what most online businesses are essentially asking their customers.
They’re not interested in getting to know one-another and building a relationship. Instead they want the whole-shamonka on the first date.
And you know what?
This method just doesn’t work. And that’s why email subscribers are so important.
You see, with email (unlike any social media, etc) you own your audience. That means you can communicate with your audience on YOUR terms. And that’s a big deal.
And it’s for this reason that ALL of the best internet marketers focus so much on converting website visitors into email subscribers.
Lets take a look at a few of the top internet marketers in this space:
Ramit is known as one of the top internet marketers out there. Lets take a look at his homepage.
Now Ramit has one hell of a lot of products that he sells for high-ticket prices, but do you see any of them here on his homepage? No.
Now why is that?
It's because Ramit knows that he's got to build a relationship with you before he asks you for your money. To do that he gets you to sign up to his email list.
If you check out the image above of his homepage you'll see he's got four calls to action.
1. Learn More - This is taking you direct to his launch sale page for his newest product.
2. Newsletter signup - Obviously just trying to get you on his mailing list.
3. Start the quiz - The quiz is a series of questions with an opt-in gate (that means you have to enter your email address to see the results) at the end. Again to get you onto his mailing list.
4. Same as above.
And there's also one more too.
He has a pop-up lead magnet that's triggered on exit intent that also tries to get you to take the quiz, once again to get your email address.
He goes through all of this effort because once he has you in his email sequence, hit marketing and sales from that point forward are all automated.
This is the model all of the best internet marketers use, and you should too.
